This privacy statement applies to the use of the website tolar.app, including completing the registration and waitlist forms. A separate privacy statement applies to the processing of personal data within the Platform (the app/service itself), which can be found via this link.
Article 1 Data controller and contact
Tolar B.V., located at Vlotlaan 554, 2681 TX Monster, the Netherlands, is the data controller for the processing of personal data via the website tolar.app.
For questions about this privacy statement or about the processing of personal data, please contact info@tolar.app. Tolar has not appointed a Data Protection Officer; the above contact point serves as the point of contact for privacy questions.
Article 2 What data Tolar collects via the website
Through the forms on tolar.app (including the waitlist forms for technicians and companies), Tolar collects the following data:
- Contact details: first and last name, company name, address, business email address;
- Additional details (where applicable): for example, the number of technicians in the case of a registration on behalf of a company;
- Technical data: language preference (automatically determined based on the language in which the website is visited), IP address, and standard technical logging data required for the functioning and security of the website;
- Consent data: the time and manner in which agreement was given to the terms and conditions and the privacy policy when completing a form.
Tolar does not collect special categories of personal data (such as health or financial data) via the website.
Article 3 Purposes and legal basis
Tolar processes the data referred to in Article 2 for the following purposes:
- Handling the registration/sign-up for the waitlist and maintaining contact about this
Legal basis: performance of (preparatory steps towards) a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); - Segmentation of registrations (for example, distinguishing between technicians and companies) in order to determine the appropriate follow-up steps
Legal basis: legitimate interest in the efficient and correct handling of registrations; - Displaying the website in the correct language (via the language preference)
Legal basis: legitimate interest in a well-functioning, user-friendly website; - Personalized email communication about Tolar’s progress, product development, and any follow-up steps towards access to the Platform
Legal basis: legitimate interest, or consent where legally required; opting out is possible at any time; - Security and fraud prevention relating to the use of the website
Legal basis: legitimate interest in a safe and reliable website.
No automated decision-making that has legal effects on the data subject without human intervention takes place via the website.
Article 4 Recipients and sub-processors
Tolar shares the data collected via the website only to the extent necessary with:
- TransIP B.V., located in the Netherlands, as the hosting provider for the website and the form software used;
- Resend, for sending email communications and following up on registrations;
- Tolar team members involved in reviewing and following up on registrations.
Personal data is never sold to third parties.
TransIP is located within the European Economic Area, so no international transfer takes place with respect to this party. To the extent that data is processed via Resend outside the EEA, Tolar ensures that an appropriate safeguard mechanism applies, such as standard contractual clauses and/or comparable safeguards. Article 5 Retention periods
- Data from waitlist registrations is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose of the registration, with a maximum of two (2) years after the last point of contact, unless a deletion request is made earlier.
- If a registration results in actual access to the Platform, the retention period set out in the Platform’s privacy statement applies from that point onward.
- In the event of a deletion request in accordance with Article 7, the data will be deleted as soon as possible, unless a statutory retention obligation prevents this.
Article 6 Cookies and similar technologies
The website tolar.app uses the following cookies or similar technologies:
Functional cookies, among other things to:
- remember the visitor’s language preference;
- ensure forms function correctly and to prevent spam/misuse.
These functional cookies are necessary for the website to function and do not require prior consent.
Analytical cookies via Google Analytics, for measuring and analyzing website statistics (such as visitor numbers and usage behavior), in order to improve the website. Before placing these cookies, Tolar requests prior consent (opt-in) via a cookie banner, in accordance with applicable cookie legislation. Data collected via Google Analytics may be transferred to Google LLC, located in the United States. Tolar ensures that an appropriate safeguard mechanism applies to this, such as standard contractual clauses and/or the additional safeguards offered by Google for transfers outside the EEA.
A visitor can withdraw their consent for analytical cookies at any time via the cookie settings on the website.
Article 7 Rights of data subjects
- A data subject has the right to request access via info@tolar.app to the personal data Tolar processes about them via the website, and may request that this data be corrected or deleted.
- Tolar will handle a request as soon as possible and in any case within the statutory period of one month.
- In addition to the right to access and deletion, the data subject has the right to rectification, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and — where applicable — data portability. A data subject also has the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Article 8 Security
Tolar takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data collected via the website against loss or unlawful processing, including encryption of data in transit and access control to the systems used.

Tolar may amend this privacy statement from time to time. The most current version can always be found on this page.
